Too Hot to Handle

A couple of years ago my husband drove cross country, and stopped at the Lodge Cast Iron Factory Store in Tennessee. Lodge is the oldest family owned cookware store in the US. The prices must have been tremendous, because he drove home with what can only be described as cast iron heaven, for a gal like me. I love to cook in cast iron. I like the heat distribution, and the easy clean up. I love that the pans last forever, and still work as good, or better, as they did when brand new.

One of the things that he brought along was this pan handle holder, because cast iron handles are hot hot hot! At first I thought I would not use this little item, because I use pot holders, and they are all in easy reach. But, I have found this to be invaluable when I used the skillets. I can use it to hold the handle while I stir or flip the food in the pan.

But, on Sunday mornings, I might have three skillets going at the same time. Think eggs, potatoes, and sausage. So, I was thinking I would make myself a couple more of these handle holders.
